Support wholesale credit risk through individual assignments in Portfolio Risk Monitoring, Issues Management, training and communications, as well as providing effective leadership within the team and/or to a team of direct reports. Must be a thought leader and independent thinker, responsible for proactive identification of new and recurring risks, to ensure proper risk mitigation and change management through the execution of assigned responsibilities for the Bank’s second line of defense.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Identify and analyze trends in portfolio risk, through interaction with Commercial/CIG and Credit Risk Teammates and assignments
2. Develop and implement training and/or communication related to credit risk initiatives such as changes in policy, procedures, and processes; directly, and indirectly through the management of a team of portfolio risk officers
3. Provide leadership and prioritization for initiatives assigned to the team and/or direct reports; provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members to encourage technical and interpersonal skill development that will enhance opportunity for career progression
4. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key line of business partners to successfully lead, participate in working groups, or collaboratively manage initiatives to improve and ensure successful execution of Commercial/CIG Credit Delivery and Credit Risk processes, including in-depth analysis of issues and requirements, business process design and documentation, system and technical solutions, assessment of impacts across internal departments and functions, and change management strategies
5. Serve as a subject-matter expert for wholesale credit risk processes to support Commercial/CIG and Credit Risk Teammates through change management, and ongoing once changes have been implemented, with ability to evaluate and solve for impacts caused by system or regulatory changes
6. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization from informing leadership and stakeholders on portfolio risk monitoring trends and wholesale credit risk training initiatives, to educating impacted teammates on forthcoming implementations
7. Management of the various reporting, governance, and risk oversight activities for wholesale credit risk leadership (e.g. Archer and Issues Management, Business Impact Analysis, SharePoint management)
8. Ensure individual and/or team assignments are properly documented, tracked and reported as necessary. Identify and escalate potential risk to timeline and/or completion, and assist team with determining appropriate steps to ensure success
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Accounting, or equivalent education and related training
2. Ten years of banking experience in various commercial roles, or related experience
3. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints
4. Comprehensive knowledge of business credit underwriting and processes
5. Experience interacting with Senior Leadership
6. Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by either direct or indirect leadership
7. Excellent independent thinking and decision-making skills
8. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, and facilitation skills
9. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Completion of an MBA, Graduate School of Banking, or formal bank training program
2. Completion of Leadership Training Program and/or certification
3. Lean Six Sigma Certification
4. Strong understanding of the Truist Credit Culture
5. Familiarity with Truist standard software packages
