The Role
The Senior Director of Sales Planning will lead the strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives. This role will oversee developing and implementing customer plans, brand plans, and sales strategies across channels and accounts, driving cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing comprehensive sales strategies that bridge the gap between field sales, brand management, and revenue growth. This role is open to candidates based in either Los Angeles, CA or Minneapolis, MN.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop the sales planning function to drive customer and channel strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between field sales, brand teams, and executive leadership, ensuring seamless communication and strategy execution.
- Oversee creating and delivering customer plans, joint business plans, and annual sales forecasts.
- Drive alignment between trade marketing, brand initiatives, and overall sales strategy to maximize growth.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to include, Marketing, Operations, Demand Planning, Category Management, Revenue Management, Shopper Insights and Tade Spending that foster data-driven decisions and execution.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key retail partners, ensuring alignment on sales and promotional strategies to drive retail execution.
- Leverage data analytics tools to track performance metrics, customer behavior, and market trends, and adjust sales strategies accordingly to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
- Identify opportunities to optimize sales processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and deliver measurable improvements in revenue and profitability.
- Lead cross-functional teams through strategic initiatives, sales planning, operational excellence and execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer performance to inform strategy adjustments.
- Ensure alignment with key organizational stakeholders, including finance, supply chain, and product development teams.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA would be a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in sales strategy, planning, or operations, preferably within CPG or retail industries.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and mentoring teams.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales performance and developing long-term growth strategies.
- Experience working with senior leadership and across departments in a collaborative environment.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting tools and CRM systems.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $155,000 - $212,000. Actual compensation is based on many factors including but not limited to depth of experience, skill level, ability, knowledge, education, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total rewards package for this position may also include base, annual incentive plan, benefits, retirement plan, equity, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
