Requirements
  • At least 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience, including significant experience operating loaders on civil construction projects.
  • Ability to work around underground wet utilities, including water, sewer, storm sewer, or drainage systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction projects.
  • Load, transport, stockpile, and distribute soil, aggregate, rock, sand, and pipe bedding material.
  • Support underground utility crews involved in water, sewer, storm sewer, and drainage installations.
  • Assist with excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation activities.
  • Maintain proper grades and material placement in accordance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with foremen, operators, and laborers to complete work safely and on schedule.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical issues.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and utility excavation requirements.
  • Assist with general earthwork and site development operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience working around underground wet utilities, including water, sewer, storm sewer, or drainage systems, is preferred.
  • Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.
