Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain and spend management is required, including experience within provider organizations or leading complex provider-based supply chain functions, or success leading complex healthcare supply chain engagements across multiple workstreams that identified quantifiable, validated, implementable financial improvement opportunities for health system clients.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams with P&L accountability and delivering measurable financial, operational, and performance outcomes is required.
  • Proven experience working with executive and C-suite leaders in complex health systems, influencing decision-making and navigating executive dynamics with credibility and confidence is required.
  • A documented track record of results evidenced by clear, quantifiable outcomes such as cost improvement, performance gains, growth, or transformation is required.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare supply chain operations and how sourcing and spend strategies translate into operational, clinical, and financial outcomes within provider environments is required.
  • Strong experience developing leaders and building high-performing teams through clear expectations, accountability, feedback, and succession planning is required.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, healthcare economics, and value-based decision-making, with the ability to prioritize investments and maximize return is required.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders through credibility, sound judgment, and trusted advisory leadership in complex stakeholder environments is required.
  • Skilled in complex, high-value negotiations that balance client value and business outcomes while building long-term partnerships is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop account management teams and cross-functional resources by establishing performance expectations, driving accountability, strengthening the talent pipeline through coaching and succession planning, and ensuring teams deliver and optimize the full spend management portfolio.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to client executive leadership, including supply chain, finance, and C-suite stakeholders, to increase client engagement, value realization, retention, and long-term profitability.
  • Align spend management solutions with documented client priorities, strategic goals, and financial objectives, and identify opportunities to expand services and deliver measurable clinical and financial impact.
  • Lead and manage client P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin, and cost discipline.
  • Execute business plans that deliver enterprise growth while prioritizing investments, negotiating outcomes, and maximizing return for clients and the company.
  • Represent the company with credibility and authority at the executive level, influencing complex stakeholder groups through expertise, judgment, and trusted leadership.
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations related to spend management programs and service expansions, and navigate ambiguity and resistance with an outcomes-focused approach.
  • Translate complex spend, utilization, and performance analytics into clear executive-level narratives that influence decision-making.
  • Enable teams to use data to diagnose issues, quantify opportunities, and demonstrate realized value across clinical, purchased services, and indirect spend.
  • Partner with Enterprise Account Management, SMBU Performance Partners, category experts, and business leaders.
  • Synthesize client feedback into actionable insights for product, service, and program development and support onboarding of new clients to ensure early value realization and long-term engagement.

The acquisition strengthens Vizient's capabilities in managing indirect spend categories as healthcare organisations face mounting financial pressures, particularly in technology-related areas.
