Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA REQUIRED.
- MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experienc e with 2-3 years of supervisory experience as a Lead Accountant.
- Expert knowledge of Excel required.
- Ability to independently organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and come to conclusions for recommendations
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality product
- Must have a proven track record and the ability to plan, conduct, and manage assignments and projects as well as mange the work performed by staff.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing financial and accounting concepts & techniques for financial reporting and control.
- Conducts ad hoc analysis to analyze financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, and controls.
- Support the Accounting Director with the monthly book close process and variance reporting and adheres to strict reporting deadlines for pre-close and close.
- Performs a balance sheet review, which includes resolving outstanding issues, reviewing accruals, pre-paids, accounts payable and deferred income or expense.
- Manages the accounting staff and activities of the department which includes developing, interpreting, and implementing financial and accounting concepts for financial planning and control.
- Analyzes financial actions and makes recommendations on accounting methods and procedures
