Responsibilities
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the architecture and micro-architecture of various AMD x86 processor families and performance analysis tools.
  • Set up and analyze target workloads, including applications and benchmarks, for networking, security and firewall, storage, wireless infrastructure, edge computing, industrial Internet of Things, automotive, and embedded market segments.
  • Characterize workload performance and develop optimized recipes for maximizing application performance and showcasing differentiation of AMD-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal product and engineering teams as a technical expert with domain expertise in target use cases, system architecture, software stacks, and performance optimization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in processor micro-architecture definition and performance modeling.
  • Strong expertise and hands-on experience with computer architecture, graphics processing unit architecture, central processing unit and graphics processing unit micro-architecture, cache hierarchy, coherent memory subsystem, system-on-chip internal interconnect, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, integrated network interface controllers and accelerators, performance modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with performance analysis and Linux performance tools such as perf, AMD uProf, and Intel VTune.
  • Experience with data-plane and control-plane architectures in networking devices.
  • Experience with packet-forwarding mechanisms using Open vSwitch and DPDK; security protocols such as IPsec and TLS; accelerator or smart network interface controller offload; P4; storage applications using SPDK and ISA-L; and virtualization or container environments and orchestration such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience in system design and architecture of networking products involving switching, routing and security, storage systems, wireless infrastructure equipment, and telecommunications applications.
  • Experience with Linux system programming, including sockets, files, shared memory, and multithreaded programming and process synchronization.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Ethernet and Layer 3 and Layer 4 network protocols such as TCP/IP, IPsec, and TLS.
  • Understanding of wireless 5G protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with the Linux networking stack.
  • Experience in performance analysis, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and debugging complex systems.
  • Proficiency in C and at least one scripting language such as shell script or Python.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and common standard Internet Protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, IPsec, and TLS.
  • Experience with graphics processing unit programming.
  • Strong expertise in computer architecture, graphics processing unit architecture, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, Compute Express Link, and Ethernet.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer engagement skills.

Cerebras unveils CS-4 AI system with OpenAI and AMD partnerships for faster inference

Cerebras Systems has launched its CS-4 AI system, promising up to twice the token-generation speed of its predecessor, six times higher system-level performance, and up to 10 times more tokens per watt in certain applications. AMD stock soars 125% in 2026 despite trading at 124x earnings — more expensive than Nvidia
