- Instruct, assist, and encourage students' participation in recreation and avocational equipment activities.
- Coach or supervise various sports activities.
- Keep equipment and assigned work areas clean and maintained according to applicable center, company, and Department of Labor standards.
- Conduct quarterly property counts, submit property relocation requests, serve as a property custodian when assigned, and submit maintenance requests as needed.
- Conduct daily checks of the assigned work area for student safety and document and report facility and safety issues.
- Lead larger recreational trips, including bus trips, when assigned.
- Ensure student needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality and report significant events or situations through approved channels to support student and staff health, safety, and well-being.
- Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance for students experiencing injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
- Provide training to students on appropriate equipment use, such as fitness equipment, when assigned.
- Participate in the Center Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles program when assigned.
- Present the Recreation Overview to new students during the Career Preparation Period when assigned.
- Organize, conduct, and direct recreation and non-vocational activities.
- Supervise student recreation and non-vocational activities on and off center.
- Order supplies and equipment when assigned.
- Conduct water safety training and supervise swimming and watersport activities when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience as a coach, in arts and crafts, or in performing arts is preferred.
