Requirements
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in nuclear plant operations, with direct senior leadership accountability at a United States nuclear generating station, such as Plant Manager, Vice President of Operations, or equivalent.
  • Direct experience building or significantly restructuring a nuclear operating organization.
  • INPO evaluation experience as a senior executive, including accountability for plant performance metrics, INPO evaluation outcomes, and corrective action program health at the senior leadership level.
  • Demonstrated nuclear safety culture leadership, including building and sustaining behavioral standards, corrective action program discipline, and a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Commercial judgment sufficient to engage credibly with external partners on operational readiness services and represent TNC’s capability in commercial and partner conversations.
Responsibilities
  • Design and build TNC’s nuclear operating organization from the ground up, defining its structure, staffing model, qualification requirements, and training program.
  • Establish TNC’s nuclear safety culture from the first hire.
  • Develop the operating staffing plan for TNC’s lead project, including the number, qualifications, and timeline for licensed and non-licensed operating staff required for fuel load and initial commercial operations.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Training on operator qualification, simulator training, and ongoing training program development.
  • Establish and validate the emergency, abnormal, and normal operating procedures program before fuel load.
  • Engage during commissioning to ensure the operating organization is ready to receive the plant, pre-operational testing is complete, and technical documentation supports licensed operations.
  • Own the fuel load readiness assessment, confirming that the operating organization, procedures, staffing, and NRC authorizations are in place before fuel load is authorized.
  • Manage the NRC pre-operational inspection program in coordination with Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Training.
  • Lead the initial startup program through initial criticality and power ascension testing to commercial operation.
  • Own the long-term safe, reliable, and efficient operation of TNC’s plants across the full operating fleet.
  • Own the outage management program across TNC’s operating fleet, including refueling, forced, and major maintenance outages.
  • Maintain TNC’s operating licenses across all facilities and coordinate on license renewals, technical specification changes, and NRC inspection readiness.
  • Engage with INPO and WANO as TNC’s senior operations representative.
  • Develop operating performance metrics and report regularly to the President/CNO.
  • Develop and deliver operational readiness advisory services for partners and utilities building operating organizations or planning to operate nuclear facilities.
  • Support partners in developing operational readiness plans for facilities they will eventually operate independently.
  • Coordinate with the SVP, Nuclear Services on the commercial boundary for operational readiness services.
  • Build TNC’s reputation as a premier operational readiness partner in the United States nuclear industry.
Desired Qualifications
  • NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) or equivalent operating authority experience.
  • Experience with nuclear new build, plant restart, or initial fuel load operations, including familiarity with pre-operational testing, startup sequence, and the NRC initial licensing inspection process.

Previously, he was chief financial officer at SolarCity and Cypress Semiconductor. The Nuclear Company has launched NOS Security, a next-generation security platform designed to protect nuclear energy infrastructure across the United States and allied nations. The system combines AI-enabled monitoring, autonomous drones, robotics, advanced sensing, cyber defence and real-time intelligence into a single platform. Summer nuclear project COLUMBIA, S.C., and NEW YORK, May 4, 2026 /CNW/ - Brookfield, a leading global investment firm, and The Nuclear Company ("TNC"), a nuclear project development and delivery company, today announced a partnership to form a new company specializing in the development of Westinghouse nuclear reactor technology. The partnership's ambition is to establish a world-leading nuclear project execution company. Brookfield's global asset management and energy infrastructure development capabilities combined with TNC's nuclear project delivery expertise will serve as the foundation for the dedicated project development company.
