Get to Know the Opportunity:
Control Team is seeking a motivated summer intern to join the Business Operations Control Team. The Control team focus among other things is to monitor and maintain a high quality of investment data for end user access, while enhancing the overall data experience for our investment professionals. This position encompasses understanding the broad view of data and the detailed activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data to end users across Voya. In addition, individual supports the requirements for assisting with processing and reconciling investment trades, positions, within and between the various accounting systems in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Success in this role requires an analytical mindset, the ability to understand exceptions and a willingness to work in a collaborative team setting. Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.
The Contributions You’ll Make:
Primary areas of responsibilities will include:
Reconcile data between and within systems in a timely and accurate manner for issue resolution.
Interact with all areas of Fixed Income (middle office, operations, portfolio management teams) & Proprietary Investments (accounting) to monitor compliance with data policies.
Perform daily quality control functions to ensure integrity of data prior to data release to end users for both the General Account and External Client related data (Includes some financial analysis).
Run quality checks on data and investigate outages to help facilitate solutions and Investigate outages and facilitate solutions to data integrity issues.
Promote a positive attitude and working environment among fellow employees and develop efficient working relationships.
Adaptable to work in an ever-changing multi-tasked environment with high priorities, varying workloads, and multiple deadlines.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
MBA Candidate / Graduate degree in accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, business administration.
Basic understanding of investment vehicles (Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives, Equities and Senior Loans).
Demonstrable knowledge of basic Microsoft platforms is expected (e.g., Microsoft Office, Windows, etc.).
Issue Resolution - Ability to independently and creatively resolve problems utilizing appropriate resources.
Client/Peer Interaction - Maintain strong working relationships with peers, supervisors, project leaders, and internal/external clients.
Excellent team interaction and interpersonal skills (verbal and writing skills).
Ability to meet and managed prescribed deadlines.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
