Job Summary:
The Release Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing the entire release management lifecycle, including scheduling, planning, coordinating, facilitating and the overall management of releases for multiple applications across various business channels. Responsible for managing and enforcing release best practices, processes, and procedures for code movement through staging and production environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, and business/operations to ensure releases are delivered on time and with the highest level of quality. Demonstrate strong leadership and impeccable communication skills to coordinate teams towards successful, smooth release completion.
This position pays between 105k-120k CAD per year.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex release cycles in an enterprise B2B company, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and security standards.
Facilitate and coordinate enterprise-wide release schedules and activities supporting the release (artifacts, deployment/implementation plans, release features/notes, release checklist validation & sign off, production validation activities).
Facilitate all release meetings and collaborate with application development teams, technology leaders, product owners and/or stakeholders to ensure successful deployment events (including readiness reviews, technology & business go/no go, release retrospective).
Create and maintain release readiness checklists and ensure that all teams understand the latest requirements.
Identify dependencies and manage risks by resolving issues that could affect release scope, schedule & quality.
Monitor issues from production and ensure proper resolution progress on high profile cases in order to meet SLA.
Generate release quality metrics reports to measure and ensure the quality of code releases.
Lead release retrospective meetings, identifying improvements and facilitating process optimization.
Generate and present monthly engineering KPI reports to leadership, tracking key performance indicators across the engineering teams.
Set up and configure JIRA boards for effective project and task management acrossteams.
Align teams in Agile scrum process; maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, workflows, and release schedules.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in release management/ technical project management or similar roles within an enterprise B2B environment.
5+ year experience in working with cross functional teams with multiple products, processes and controls.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present information, status, and issues in a clear and concise manner.
Self-motivated, detail oriented, energetic, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills.
