Who we need
We are seeking a talented UX Copywriter to join the Brand Studio Team and become an expert in Shutterstock’s product and service offerings while helping translate our brand vision and voice across all platforms. In this role, you'll write copy that delivers the best possible user experience while driving user acquisition, activation, utilization, and retention. You'll be an end-to-end contributor, collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through delivery on projects ranging from small features to large system-wide initiatives.
Working closely with product designers, product managers, marketers, data analysts, and other copywriters, you will establish and maintain consistency in product copy while adhering to brand tone guidelines. Your work will span various user touchpoints, focusing on creating intuitive, delightful product experiences that help users accomplish their goals while optimizing for conversion and growth metrics.
The day to day
Write clear, concise, on brand, and compelling copy for:
Websites, calls to action, and microcopy at user inflection points
Landing pages and pricing pages
In-product messaging and on-site banners banners
User onboarding sequences, emails, and activation campaigns
Notifications, error messages, tooltips
Drive growth and optimization:
Create and optimize copy for conversion funnels
Gather, distill, and deliver recommendations based on user experience data.
Write SEO-optimized content that ranks well and converts
A/B test copy variations to improve key metrics
Develop growth-focused microcopy for critical user journey touchpoints
Optimize onboarding flows to improve user activation and utilization rates
Collaborate across teams:
Work across in-house creative (aka Shutterstock’s Brand Studio team), Events, Product Design, Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to maintain consistent and compelling messaging
Partner with SEO team to ensure copy follows best practices
Coordinate with designers and engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
Participate in user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve copy
Sync with data analysts to analyze user behavior analytics to inform your decisions
Help develop content systems integrated into the Design System
Misc:
Stay current with and share growth marketing, product growth, and UX writing best practices
Extensively post GIFs and emojis throughout Slack channels
What you bring to the role
You have 5+ years of experience
You have a strong understanding of user-flow and funnel optimization, demonstrating success in conversion rate optimization and growth hacking
You have expertise in SEO copywriting and optimization techniques
You have have experience creating and optimizing user onboarding flows
You have experience with user testing, product experimentation, and leveraging research and analytics to inform you work
You have a deep understanding of behavioral psychology and its application to UX writing
You have a collaborative spirit with problem-solving mindset
You have a proactive, self-starter attitude
You have strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders
You have a portfolio that demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience and shows business results. It should provide details of the goal of the projects, your role, who you worked with, your process, the outcomes, and reflection of what you would have done differently.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.
The pay range for this position is below:
• 94,000 - 106,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
