  • The position requires working Saturdays and Sundays on a rotating basis.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper condition of the checkout and customer-service area, including cleanliness, functionality, and smooth operations.
  • Perform work requiring initiative and responsibility within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate the team’s work under the manager’s authority and provide occasional cover for the manager during absences.
  • Inform and assist customers throughout the checkout journey and respond to information requests with an appropriate commercial attitude.
  • Promote customer-loyalty tools to customers.
  • Manage physical and telephone reception for external visitors and point-of-sale customers.
  • Handle customer disputes and report customer feedback to the manager.
  • Take specific orders, prepare invoices on request, and complete warranty documents.
  • Provide point-of-sale services, including equipment rental and returns and parcel collection.
  • Ensure the proper operation of self-service equipment.
  • Lead the customer-relations approach among colleagues in the area under management supervision.
  • Ensure point-of-sale and in-store information displays are posted within the area.
  • Organize and implement point-of-sale events after approval.
  • Participate in implementing and monitoring corrective action plans defined by management.
  • Monitor hourly performance for the area and each cashier.
  • Check checkout equipment and report malfunctions to management.
  • Operate a checkout when customer service requires it and process payments.
  • Perform checkout and customer-service operations, including opening and closing tills, exchanging money, checking payment methods, processing refunds and exchanges, managing discount vouchers, cancellations, returns and disputes, counting and closing tills, preparing bank deposits, and checking summary receipts.
  • Ensure accurate cash counts and report cash discrepancies and cash-fund information to the manager.
  • Classify checkout-related financial documents and forward return and refund documents to accounting.
  • Record the safe balance in a monitoring log for traceability.
  • Supply the automated teller machine and coin dispensers.
  • Manage consumables for the assigned area.
  • Participate in inventories and anti-shrinkage measures.
  • Coordinate work between area employees and inform management of difficulties applying instructions.
  • Provide occasional operational support for or replacement of the manager during absences.
  • Manage employees’ break schedules operationally.
  • Communicate necessary information to cashiers and customer-service staff, including promotional and loyalty operations and lists of suspicious customers.
  • Support cashiers and customer-service staff and participate in integrating new colleagues.
  • Follow and verify compliance with applicable legislation and report implementation difficulties to management.
  • Follow hygiene and quality procedures, including product withdrawal or recall procedures, cold-chain requirements, and workstation cleanliness.
  • Follow regulations concerning displays, labeling, customer information, and pricing.
  • Identify and report misleading advertising, incorrect prices, or unavailable items advertised in promotional materials.
  • Follow safety rules, including crisis procedures and keeping access routes clear.
