Responsibilities
  • Lead rigorous investigations to identify, characterize, and quantify yield limiters within assigned fab modules.
  • Determine root causes of yield excursions, develop and publish actionable yield paretos, and translate complex data into clear technical direction.
  • Provide data-driven guidance to the fab and drive corrective action strategies and sustainable yield improvements.
  • Lead and maintain a training and development program, providing coaching and mentorship to direct reports.
  • Track probe yield performance and trends and explain gaps between target and actual yields.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to quantify yield issues and generate yield paretos that guide fab priorities and improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with Process Integration, Probe, Process Engineering, Electrical Failure Analysis, and Physical Failure Analysis teams to correlate electrical signals, probe signatures, and physical findings into actionable insights.
  • Partner with module, inline monitoring, and global teams to implement, monitor, and standardize yield fixes.
  • Discover yield issues in NAND development and identify metrics or combinations of metrics for issue quantification, including wafer, die, and tile shading and ECATS.
  • Work with process area, process integration, yield, failure analysis, product engineering, design, and layout teams to define yield, cell, CMOS, qualification, and reliability issues and derive improvement actions across technology nodes and designs.
  • Own and drive deep-dive statistical analysis of inline, probe, cell, and other critical metrics to define issues, enable early inline detection, and improve product yield and quality.
  • Quantify and track issue hit rate, line impact, gap to program goal, and yield improvement or downside resulting from process and probe changes.
  • Initiate data mining and correlation studies for new issues and initiate physical failure analysis requests to identify root causes.
  • Perform inline correlation studies to establish inline predictions for yield issues and make yield projections based on expected improvement or downside.
  • Conduct yield trend analysis and identify root causes in process steps, conversions, algorithm changes, and designs for yield shifts.
  • Continuously develop and redefine inline detection in collaboration with metrology and RDA teams.
  • Identify and define gaps in current testing and co-develop unique parametric and probe bins to detect new failure modes and validate new program releases.
  • Collaborate with module owners to identify and quantify module deficiencies and technology gaps and drive cross-functional teams to address them.
  • Optimize existing layouts and develop innovative solutions that meet product requirements and manufacturability needs.
  • Develop techniques for extracting data from different databases through query languages and automate them through scripting.
  • Support transfer documentation of layout and architecture fundamentals for new technologies from research and development to the manufacturing fab.
  • Identify, test, and share AI-enabled enhancements within the scope of work.

Micron shares drop 4.2% despite HBM shortage giving pricing power

Micron offers Taiwan engineers $32K bonuses amid labor tensions and AI boom

Micron Technology is offering Taiwan engineers approximately $32,000 in cash plus equity awards as the AI-driven memory boom generates record profits. Micron closes gap on SK Hynix to 1.6 points in $155B DRAM market race

Micron Technology is closing in on SK Hynix for the second-place position in the global DRAM market, trailing by just 1.6 percentage points in Q2 2026.
