  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with active bar membership
  • At least 5 years of experience in transactional law, ideally with both top-tier law firm and in-house experience, with significant experience running deals in the leveraged lending or structured finance spaces
  • Strong problem-solving and legal analysis abilities, sound judgment, and efficient project management skills
  • Experience or strong interest in financial services or a related regulated industry
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to influence cross-functional groups and communicate business-oriented legal advice in an efficient way
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including credit agreements, indentures, ancillary transactional agreements, intercompany agreements, bank partnership agreements, purchase agreements, and NDAs
  • Provide legal guidance on financing and capital markets matters, corporate governance, and public company filings, including those specific to consumer and small business financial services sectors
  • Provide support and assistance as needed on other transactional/corporate focused matters, including intellectual property, real estate, insurance, and labor and employment
  • Support diligence, signing, closing, and other deal stages of financing and other complex transactions
  • Oversee post-transaction management, including reporting requirements, waivers, and amendments, and resolve any contractual disputes
  • Manage external legal counsel to address various corporate and transactional matters effectively
