Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering
  • Eight plus years of related work experience in controls engineering
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience in troubleshooting automated equipment
  • Programming experience with Fanuc robots and other robot brands like ABB, KUKA, YASKAWA, and Motoman
  • Familiarity with vision systems such as Keyence, Cognex, or Dalsa
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks like Devicenet, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, and EthernetIP
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell software (Allen Bradley)
  • Familiarity with GE, Siemens, or Mitsubishi PLC
  • Experience with CIP safety controllers like Pilz and Guardlogix
  • Ability to perform Risk Assessments
  • Knowledge of motion controllers, variable frequency drives, and electronic actuators
  • Understanding of industry standards such as NEC, NFPA, and RIA
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to implement solutions independently
  • Willingness to travel 15-25% of the time
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Excellent work history and attendance record
Responsibilities
  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to create/update electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics schematics
  • Design and program automated control systems according to customer specifications
  • Select controls components and generate bill of materials
  • Program using RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, and Factory Talk View Studio
  • Perform machine power up, debug, and programming
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring and process-related issues
  • Meet project budgets and timeline milestones
  • Commission, setup, and program various types of automated hardware
  • Support junior engineers in developing advanced controls systems designs
  • Evaluate machine process problems and execute corrective action plans
  • Lead complex projects ensuring standard practices are followed
  • Implement design and workflow improvements
  • Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, and peripheral equipment
  • Represent the organization in networking opportunities and assist sales team with technical questions
