Requirements
  • The candidate must meet one qualifying background: former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer who is an Advanced Leader Course graduate; former Navy Enlisted Classification 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman at E-6 or above; former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service member at E-6 or above; or a currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician (MD/DO).
  • The candidate must hold National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification at the Emergency Medical Technician level or higher.
  • The candidate must hold Basic Life Support certification.
  • The candidate must complete required antiterrorism, iWatch, Operations Security, cybersecurity, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, onboarding, and annual training requirements.
  • The candidate must comply with Controlled Unclassified Information handling, HAZMAT management, and applicable military, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
  • The candidate must complete and certify in accordance with TC 8-800 within 30 days of starting.
  • The candidate must be eligible for and obtain a Common Access Card, requiring a minimum Tier 1 investigation.
  • The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout training environments for extended periods of 8 or more hours.
  • The candidate must lift and carry medical training equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The candidate must kneel, crouch, and work at ground level during field training exercises.
  • The candidate must work outdoors in varying weather conditions and use manual dexterity to apply moulage and operate patient simulators.
  • The candidate must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The candidate must review documents, maintain electronic files, manage spreadsheets and tracking records, and complete data-entry tasks.
  • The candidate must use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
  • The candidate must manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
  • The candidate must learn Government information systems and Army applicant-processing procedures.
  • The candidate must resolve administrative and minor performance issues and complete reports, rosters, and deliverables on time.
  • The candidate must oversee adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver Tactical Combat Casualty Care training across all four tiers: All Service Members, Combat Lifesaver, Combat Medic, and Combat Paramedic.
  • Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and Combat Lifesaver initial and sustainment training for non-medical personnel.
  • Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training and evaluation environments while maintaining required instructor-to-student ratios.
  • Instruct mixed-experience Soldier populations and assess critical-thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions.
  • Support a projected minimum throughput of at least 2,500 68W students annually across all Medical Simulation Training Center sites.
  • Use approved scenario-based training from course Training Circulars or as approved by the medical proponent.
  • Apply moulage techniques, environmental controls, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments.
  • Assess students using grading sheets for individual scenarios and ensure training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent.
  • Operate Medical Simulation Training Center systems, including ISS, VPS, and MT-C2, and configure and execute realistic training scenarios.
  • Contribute data to Monthly Staffing Reports, document and report accidents and incidents, and maintain training records, student evaluations, and After-Action Review documentation.
  • Operate patient simulators, manikins, and medical training equipment and perform operator-level preventive maintenance.
  • Follow Original Equipment Manufacturer instructions for equipment requiring extended service agreement repair.
  • Inventory and manage consumables, notify the Contracting Officer's Representative when supplies are required, and initiate equipment repair and condition-status reports.
  • Keep the Training Operations Representative and Assistant Program Manager/Contracting Officer's Representative informed of equipment issues and notify the W-TRS maintainer of failures outside extended service agreement coverage.
  • Participate in Quality Control Plan activities, including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews.
  • Maintain all certifications throughout the contract, complete annual TC 8-800 recertification for all tables, and participate in instructor development and cross-site standardization initiatives.
  • Work Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1700 local time, with overtime, weekend, and extended hours as required during surge operations.
  • Travel locally during the business day and occasionally travel out of area or overnight for cross-site support, surge operations, training conferences, or the MSTC Exchange Program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care provider or instructor certification.
  • Experience with medical simulation Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations, including SimMan 3G, MTC2, or Cut Suit.
  • Prior Medical Simulation Training Center or medical simulation training center experience.
  • Experience with moulage techniques and theatrical special effects for high-fidelity scenarios.
  • Familiarity with TC 8-800 tables and the Deployed Medicine curriculum.
  • Experience delivering emergency medical, tactical trauma, or combat casualty care training.
  • Experience with Medical Simulation Training Center operations, high-fidelity medical simulation, Tactical Combat Casualty Care instruction, 68W sustainment training, moulage, equipment maintenance, and training documentation.
  • Experience supervising training or instructional staff and proficiency in conflict resolution and team management.
