Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • PE License in North Carolina or ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • Minimum of 4 years of bridge design experience
  • Experience working with NCDOT and local municipalities
  • Experience with NCDOT WIGINS program
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Progressive experience utilizing Bentley CAD and design software
  • Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Ability to perform complex analysis and design
  • Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design projects
  • Lead structural designers on bridge design projects
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports necessary for bridge projects
  • Complex modeling analysis and/or design experience
  • Check and sign off on basic design calculations, quantities, and plan elements
  • Model, analyze and/or design elements of a project and coordinate development with other elements and disciplines within the project
  • Work independently and develop task deliverables in a competent and reviewable manner
  • Lead or assist with bridge inspection field efforts
