Requirements
  • 3+ years of end-to-end multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Multi-state payroll tax reconciliation and filing experience
  • Federal and state tax amendment experience
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Demonstrated understanding of payroll tax reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven Excel skills

Responsibilities
  • General day-to-day administrative duties such as mail distribution, tax payment reconciliation, and tax payment submissions
  • Audit taxable wage and tax withholding calculations, then submit errors to approve changes
  • Ensure timely review and response to agency tax notices
  • Process quarterly and annual tax amendments on time and accurately
  • Maintain tax code and tax rate databases within proprietary system and Mastertax
  • Maintain agency accounts including submitting annual registration fees, updating Power of attorney, transitioning external correspondence to our system for action, ensuring state ID’s match in all systems and more
  • Provide feedback to team members on potential compliance concerns
  • Provide support to internal teams and clients
  • Contact state agencies to resolve issues
  • Review amendment requests and prepare federal and state amendments
  • Other duties as assigned
