The Opportunity:
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll champion quality for our platform and products to provide the best possible experience for our users and partners. You will identify, analyze and document issues within our software applications following an established QA methodology.
How your role contributes to the success of Vegas.com:
- Evaluates and tests new software applications according to business and functional requirements
- Perform API level testing, system testing, black box functional testing, and UI testing.
- Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products.
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality for large and complex projects.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
How your role expectations will progress as a Quality Engineer in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
- Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
- Learn how vegas.com operates and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
- Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and values.
- Develop basic understanding of applications, tech stack, and Quality process.
90 days in
- Uphold our approaches, methods, and technologies to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
- Build, maintain, and leverage relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives.
- Deliver technical solutions that contribute to overall testability and effectiveness.
180 days in
- Advocate for process improvements that positively impact the team.
- Have self-sufficiency in all applications touched by the team.
- Improve efficiency in core systems and applications managed by the team and contribute to group objectives,
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Technology, or related field
- Working knowledge of the SDLC and QA’s role in implementing test methodologies and standards.
- Testing experience in a web-based environment, e-commerce a plus.
- Working experience with Postman or other XML testing tools.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Selenium is preferred.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented languages such as Java or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (Using MongoDB).
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills with proven ability to multi-task.
- An intrinsic desire for constant improvement in the quality of products and processes and uncovering hard to find scenarios.
