Requirements
  • Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Fluent in English. Working Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage loan approval deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines
  • Self motivated, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Financial modeling and knowledge of financial statements
  • Proficient in ALL Microsoft Office Tools
  • Advanced Excel a necessity and PowerPoint a must, Bloomberg a plus. Argus a plus
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the new deal origination/modeling/structuring process for the real estate finance team
  • Evaluate new transactions to determine the quality of each opportunity
  • Assist in the preparation of deal screening memos, credit applications, risk ratings, and other supporting materials required during the approval process
  • Conduct market research on a macro and micro level for various property types, markets and submarkets
  • Coordinate the engagement of third party vendors (legal, valuation, engineering, etc.)
  • Assist with customer due diligence / know your customer checks on new clients transactional due diligence, and loan closing process
  • Prepare detailed cash flow and real estate analysis models complete with deal, market, and industry information for the analysis of potential new business
  • Assessing BBVA’s internal risk rating, as well as running return models for each transaction
  • Portfolio management and information reporting on in process transactions and closed deals, including interaction with finance on fee recognition
  • Loan approval, closing, and booking for transactions booked in NY using internal processes and systems, working with various teams to book transactions
  • Maintain and update various sizing and structuring models to provide efficient and transparent analysis and feedback on new deals to originators, relationship managers, and credit risk as deals progress through the structuring and closing process
  • Maintain various databases to track origination and market color: pricing, structure, leverage, etc.
  • Interact closely with the syndication team, as applicable
  • Participate in periodic site inspections
