The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. This recall potentially affects 844,027 vehicles. The Heil Company is recalling certain 2016-2026 front loader garbage trucks equipped with replacement CNG tailgate ladder kits. An incorrect bolt may have been installed in one of the ladder legs, allowing the bolt to contact and damage the CNG cylinders. A damaged CNG tank can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire. Paccar is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt 567, 579, 589, and 2027 Kenworth T680, T880, and W990 vehicles. The seat ventilation harness may be missing heat-shrink, resulting in a short circuit. Einride & DAF integrate autonomous technology into trucks. Aug 13, 2026 at 9:56 AM The Swedish technology company Einride AB and the Dutch commercial vehicle manufacturer DAF Trucks have announced a partnership to advance the integration of the autonomous vehicle system Einride Driver into DAF's vehicle platform. This collaboration represents a significant step towards the large-scale commercialization of autonomous electric commercial vehicles at SAE Level 4. The initiative addresses industry challenges such as the shortage of drivers and rising operating costs. SAE Level 4 describes a high degree of driving automation, where the vehicle can independently perform recurring driving tasks under defined conditions without human intervention. This allows drivers to focus on logistical activities where their expertise and judgment provide the greatest benefit. Integration of technology and vehicle platform. In the first step, Einride and DAF, in collaboration with experts from the Dutch research institute TNO, will define and test the integration of the autonomous vehicle system into the DAF platform. This includes establishing the necessary interfaces to enable safe and scalable autonomous operations. With support from TNO, Einride and DAF are working closely with regulatory authorities to ensure that the platform is suitable for future use on public roads. Initial tests and validations of the key interfaces are planned for 2026, followed by the integration and commissioning of Einride's autonomous driving software in 2027. All subsequent validations and functionality tests will be conducted on a DAF vehicle. Strategy for automated driving. This initiative builds on PACCAR's experience in automated driving, which has already been gathered through the autonomous vehicle platform program in North America. In parallel, PACCAR is developing solutions for autonomous driving in collaboration with emerging technology providers. These developments reflect the rapid evolution of scalable, software-defined autonomy solutions for heavy-duty transport. Insights from these programs provide additional opportunities to accelerate the development of autonomous capabilities within the DAF platform. Henrik Green, Chief Technology Officer of Einride, commented on the partnership: "By leveraging DAF's decades of manufacturing expertise and market strength, we can accelerate the global scaling of Einride's autonomous technology."
