Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written, interpersonal, and group communication at all levels of the school and with external constituents.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle stressful, challenging, and emotional situations while creating thoughtful, fair, and institutionally aligned responses.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, staff, university constituents, and external organizations.
  • Proven organizational, planning, event management, public speaking, and leadership skills, with adaptability to ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to represent Yale Divinity School in multiple contexts and confidence using a variety of technology platforms.
  • Ability to create and sustain an environment of mutual respect while continually learning about differences in community members to support responsible, humane, and inclusive work and learning environments.

Responsibilities
  • Stay abreast of research and trends in higher education and understand ecumenical spaces, theological landscapes, interfaith traditions, and other practices.
  • Implement initiatives for the School's faculty and administration.
  • Support the office presence on Yale Connect, the online campus engagement system.
  • Interact regularly with the Dean's Office to promote the success of programs and processes.
  • Contribute ideas for faculty onboarding and support programs.
  • Undertake research or specific projects as assigned.
  • Develop ideas to increase the office's impact.
  • Serve as manager or assistant for events and programs.
  • Assist in organizing large-scale events, including talks by notable visitors, and accompany the Associate Dean to events as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Office to contribute to approved social media platforms.
  • Conduct surveys and host focus groups as directed by the Associate Dean for DEIB.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean, including correspondence with community partners, consolidating monthly expenses, data input, scheduling meetings, preparing letters, and preparing minutes for relevant meetings.
  • Provide backup support for office administration.
  • Manage and lead research on federal rules and regulations and University policies and procedures to resolve problems and determine the best course of action for the functional area.
  • Recommend courses of action to higher authority for handling and disposition of problems related to the functional area.
  • Counsel faculty, students, and staff on issues related to administrative operations and areas of concern for the function.
  • Manage statistical and analytical information regarding office activities and operational and administrative concerns.
  • Lead long-range planning for office activities in a specific functional area.
  • Interpret and administer University and federal policies and regulations.
  • Disseminate accurate and up-to-date information regarding areas of concern.
  • Formulate and establish policies regarding the area's function.
  • Manage a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree or significant experience in relevant fields such as Education, Religion, or Theology, along with experience working with diverse groups of people.
  • Experience with program management and a strong sense of project ownership, including confidence in managing plans through to completion.
