Requirements
  • 5-10 years progressive experience including field operations and supervisory/management experience or equivalent
  • Technical expertise and experience related to internal control structure, policies, procedures and compliance
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Must be able to understand regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of meter installations
  • Ability to drive between different locations and job sites
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License is required
Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Manager, Meter Operations, the Superintendent has direct operational oversight over all company and regulatory policies and procedures and ensures compliance as it relates to Meter Activities
  • Participate in the Meter Department emergency on-call rotation as well as rotating Saturday coverage
  • Supervise the Field Service staff (FSRs) and Customer Service Field Representatives (CSFRs)
  • Oversee the daily field activities related to installing, replacing, repairing, reading and testing of meters and end points and all associated devices
  • Reconciliation of all scheduled and unscheduled work daily (planned work vs. completed)
  • Review and evaluate work orders, particularly those deemed 'problematic/incomplete,' providing guidance, feedback, or corrective action to field staff
  • Coordinate and/or oversee the meter change out programs (all sizes) and ensure annual change out targets are met as required by the Board of Public Utilities
  • Coordinate and investigate issues and meter reading exceptions (no reads, High/Lows, consecutive estimates, zero consumption)
  • Prepare assignment rosters, reviewing time sheets, tracking absences and time off requests, making inspections of various field projects, processing job sheets, and making personal contacts with customers, plumbers and contractors as needed
  • Clearly communicate staff duties and responsibilities, work policies, rules, and regulations
  • Develop protocols for managing contingencies and emergencies, including planning for sufficient staffing during unexpected situations and absences
  • Ensure safety compliance with all company and OSHA safety standards including the scheduling and tracking of all required training in conjunction with Veolia’s safety programs
  • New meter installations and service setups
  • Awareness of cross connection control and backflow prevention programs
  • Meter testing, calibration, and maintenance
  • Perform weekly quality assurance/control investigations of work performed to ensure work is in line with department, regulatory and safety standards
  • Ensure 100 % compliance with all regulatory requirements pertaining to meter reading, age and testing
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests, or complaints
  • Provide support in response to BPU inquiries, requests, or complaints
  • Responsible for all aspects of meter inventory and meter replacement parts and associated reading devices as required by change out program activity
  • Ordering and approving the purchase of department related materials in compliance with company procurement policies and/or established compliance standards
  • Support “Age” related or “Random Sampling” programs and initiatives
  • Ensuring quality assurance/quality control of records in a format conducive with company and BPU reporting requirements and submitted to the appropriate regulatory agency in a timely manner
  • Represent the Meter Department in company-wide Non-Revenue Water initiatives
  • Partner with the New Business department to handle new meter installs
  • Participate in developing and implementing the department’s standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with external parties to facilitate complex meter projects and initiatives including training, development of safe work plans including traffic control measures
  • Support Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiatives
  • Monitor and report on relevant KPIs
  • Emergency Response: Must be able to respond to emergency calls and work extended hours as needed
  • Provide support on special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in management, science or technology is preferred
  • Plumbing experience is a plus
  • Direct supervision of a union workforce is preferred
  • Budgeting, planning and forecasting experience

Veolia posts 10.4% net income growth in H1 2026, raises full-year guidance to 8%

Veolia Environnement reported revenue of €22.93 billion for the first half of 2026, up 1.5% at constant scope and foreign exchange, excluding energy prices. The company's EBITDA reached €3.55 billion, rising 5% with margins improving by 70 basis points to 16%. Current net income grew 10.4% at constant scope and forex, whilst net free cash flow improved by €164 million compared to the same period in 2025. The company achieved €195 million in efficiency gains during the period. Veolia completed its acquisition of Cleaners in the United States, which contributed to net financial debt of €24.5 billion. The company raised its full-year 2026 current net income growth guidance to at least 8%, citing strong operational performance and well-controlled financial charges. Revenue growth in water technology faced temporary delays in the Middle East due to geopolitical tensions.

Veolia launches $452M non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due 2032

Veolia Environnement has launched a €400 million offering of non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due January 2032. The bonds will be offered exclusively to qualified institutional investors through an accelerated bookbuilding process. The synthetic convertible bonds offer exposure to Veolia's share performance but will be cash-settled only, without issuing new shares. The bonds will bear an annual interest rate between 0.50% and 0.75%, with a conversion premium of 20% over a reference share price. Concurrently, Veolia will purchase cash-settled call options to hedge its exposure. The company intends to use proceeds for general corporate purposes, including purchasing the options. BNP Paribas and Natixis serve as joint global coordinators, with BofA Securities, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley as joint bookrunners. Veolia plans to list the bonds on Euronext Access within 30 days.

Veolia raises $791M through convertible bond offering to refinance 2021 debt

Enviri spins off New Enviri as standalone public company with $1.2B revenue after Clean Earth sale

New Enviri has launched as a standalone public company following the completion of Clean Earth's sale to Veolia Environnement. Veolia and Amazon partner to reuse 83M gallons of water annually for Mississippi data centre cooling

Veolia is collaborating with Amazon to develop reclaimed water systems for data centre cooling in Mississippi, supporting Amazon's goal to become water positive in direct data centre operations by 2030. The first facility is expected to be operational in 2027. Veolia will deploy containerised treatment systems converting wastewater into cooling water that meets industrial quality standards. The project is expected to reuse over 83 million gallons of potable water annually once fully operational, equivalent to the annual water use of approximately 760 US homes. The modular design enables scalable deployment across Amazon facilities globally where conditions are suitable. This collaboration is part of Veolia's Data Center Resource 360 offering, designed to optimise resource management for next-generation data centres whilst advancing water stewardship.
