  • Technical degree (BS engineering or Physics) preferred
  • 2-5 years related work experience preferred
  • Experience with imaging optical design principles, with some lens development experience
  • Basic competence with Zemax or CODEV or FRED or other optical design package
  • Experience with Infra optical systems and radiometry a plus
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with highly technical content
  • Ability to support multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Senior Optical engineers in the design and development of optical prescriptions
  • Tolerance and analyze optical systems performance over temperature
  • Work with the Opto mechanical engineers to ensure the optical design intent is consistent with DFM and DFA implemented by the Opto mechanical engineers
  • Support the design and development of assembly and test fixtures to ensure they are consistent with the optical design, tolerances, and intent
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation
  • Prepare and support Design review activities
  • Support production and QA with debug of issues and RMA assessments
