A proven, hands-on software engineer who has led teams to build backend service platforms that abstracts complexity away from and simplifies the lives of product engineers
Demonstrated ability to refactor, re-architect and unify core backend services to a high level of scalability, availability and reliability
Experience working with 3rd party vendors/SDKs You tend to become a subject matter expert in any code you dive into, and demonstrate strong product ownership in your team's work
You have experience providing technical direction and leadership to a team of backend engineers. You optimize for impact over progress and have a bias towards action
You are architecturally minded, fearless of the unknown and can jump into different languages, code bases, client vs backend code ramping up as needed
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Science disciplines, or comparable STEM-related degree

Plan, architect and lead ambitious technical projects that interact with a wide variety of teams within the company
Create and maintain best-in-class backend systems that enable all our product teams and provide consistent, reliable experiences for our members
Partner with Engineering and Product Leadership to design core, foundational services that have multiplicative impact across Product-facing engineering teams
Scale organization-wide practices around our Agile and Devops methodologies
Demonstrate thought leadership and take the lead in identifying, defining, and implementing impactful work that enable our Product teams

Included Health is building a next generation healthcare technology and is looking for an experienced backend engineer to join the Product Platform team. The Product Platform team builds the product foundations and core services that allow for rapid development of products across engineering with a consistent user experience, and scalable and reliable architecture. The focus here is to solve those customer problems that require product thinking, combined with the backend skills to build out the necessary heavy-duty infrastructure.

You are a strong cross-functional technical leader that can build software that meets the highest standards in quality, scalability and reliability. You will be working across all engineering teams, Front End, Mobile and Backend, and collaborating with the Engineering Manager to define and execute a multi-year vision. You will be expected to break down and execute large projects with the Product Platform team. This is a great opportunity to have a broad-sized impact across the Company fostering collaboration between Product and Infrastructure Orgs and unlocking our Product-facing engineering teams to focus on powering member experiences.
