Semgrep provides a software solution that helps security engineers and developers find and fix vulnerabilities in their code before it is deployed. The tool integrates into existing workflows, allowing teams to receive actionable insights that enhance their software development life cycle (SDLC). One of its standout features is the ability to significantly reduce false positives in open-source vulnerabilities by up to 98% through reachability analysis, ensuring that only real threats are flagged. This focus on accuracy helps streamline the security process, making it easier for developers to trust the results. Semgrep's tool is designed for speed, with average scan times under 5 minutes and median continuous integration (CI) scan times of just 10 seconds, which boosts productivity. The company aims to provide a reliable and efficient way for engineering teams to secure their software, likely operating on a subscription-based model for access to its services.
