Requirements
  • At least 6 years of Employee Relations experience conducting investigations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Background in employment law, Employment Lawyer preferred (JD)
  • Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, and ability to objectively coach cross functional partners through complex issues
  • Ability to competently analyze and synthesize documents and data to make objective findings
  • Deep knowledge of ER, federal, state and local laws that govern employment practices
  • Deep understanding of FMLA, EEO laws, ADA and other employment-related state and federal laws & regulations
  • Able to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Prior experience working in a high growth, fast paced and agile environment
  • In depth knowledge of various well-being and benefit initiatives and compliance
  • Knowledge of employment laws, EEOC Requirements ,STD/FMLA, Reasonable Accommodation, FLSA/wage-hour laws, etc
  • Experience demonstrating effective consultation and influencing skills. Demonstrated successful experience with constructive confrontation, conflict resolution and analysis (problem assessment, solution generation)
Responsibilities
  • Build and own end-to-end global Employee Relations strategy and execution
  • Assess, develop, and deploy a vision and roadmap to support effective employee relations across the business
  • Own continuous improvement of employee relations process and tools
  • Define and/or refine stakeholder engagement models to educate and improve on risk mitigation including setting escalation standards, ongoing training, and feedback loop processes
  • Be proactive and anticipate change, providing critical and timely input about consequences and implications of local law and best practices to all internal stakeholders
  • Conduct workplace investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and address employee issues and complaints
  • Ensure cases are handled fairly with consistency, speed and depth in mind, and in line with company values and applicable laws
  • Design, deliver and maintain training for employees, managers, leaders and the People team pertaining to employee relations and related compliance (e.g., training concerning policies, procedures, employee relations, and/or applicable state and federal legal requirements)
  • Partner with People Business Partners, Legal, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure cross-functional investigations and any disciplinary processes are handled promptly, consistently, and in compliance with applicable laws
  • Analyze ER, labor and employment trends to develop solutions and strategies and make recommendations based on ER related data
  • Research trends and practices in employee relations by assessing and maintaining a case management system and recommend programs that will improve employee relations and engagement; help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies
  • Coordinate with managers and People Business Partners to develop performance improvement plans, work closely with manager and employee to provide support, direction, and clear communication throughout the process
  • Counsel employees on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws. Provide advice and counsel regarding leave administration, e.g., FMLA, CFRA, and compliance with the Americans with Disability Act and the requirements under this law, e.g., the interactive process
  • Responsible for People Team/Employee Compliance: i-9 review,Employee Handbook updates, etc
  • Monitor, and address global policies on employee behavior
  • Partner with the Benefits Team to navigate personal employee issues and sensitive accommodation requests
