Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must pass the appropriate company security clearances.
  • Applicants should have service, sales, telesales, or guest-relations industry experience.
  • Applicants must be proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Applicants must be computer literate and able to operate the property management system to post charges, compute bills, collect payments, and make change.
  • Applicants must have problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Applicants must be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, stretch, reach, see, hear, read, concentrate, think, and communicate as required by the role.
  • Applicants must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Applicants must be available to work any day or shift, including weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue.
  • Support total front-office operations and act as Manager on Duty when needed or scheduled.
  • Respond immediately to guest requests and maintain thorough communication with management staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property, staff, services, operating hours, room types, locations, rates, discounts, frequent-stay programs, reservation procedures, phone procedures, area attractions, daily events, and operational changes.
  • Greet and register guests, assign rooms, protect guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible.
  • Promote and sell hotel services and amenities.
  • Promote repeat business by offering future reservations and recommendations for alternate same-brand products.
  • Identify potential sales leads through guest interactions and report them to the appropriate individual.
  • Keep housekeeping and other departments informed about special requests, late check-outs, and special-needs areas.
  • Validate credit cards before the end of each shift.
  • Learn and use the property management system.
  • Ensure cash, checks, and miscellaneous departments are balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in food and beverage, housekeeping, laundry, cleanliness, and other departments as needed for guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and professional lobby, dining area, and market area.
  • Follow emergency procedures and safety standards, and report or correct hazardous conditions.
  • Report unusual occurrences or requests to the manager.
  • Maintain required certification.
  • Use the Service Recovery Log and other communication logs to transfer information between shifts.
  • Follow approved laundry procedures and assist with operating washers and dryers and folding linen when applicable.
