  • Completed degrees above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Employment requires successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary human resources consultation point for employees and supervisors at the Director level and below on day-to-day human resources matters, including hiring, classification, compensation, and routine supervisory questions.
  • Supervise, motivate, and evaluate assigned human resources staff; develop staff judgment and capability through documented procedures, decision guides, and progressive delegation.
  • Create growth and cross-training opportunities, delegate tasks and responsibilities, train new staff, provide performance evaluations, and handle discipline in accordance with College policy.
  • Implement human resources policies, procedures, and process improvements under the Chief Human Resources Officer's direction.
  • Monitor operational workflows, identify delays caused by processes or policies, and recommend improvements to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Human Resources Officer on matters requiring executive decision-making, signature authority, or institutional risk assessment.
  • Participate with the Chief Human Resources Officer in policy development, institutional human resources initiatives, and executive-level matters as assigned.
  • Prepare operational reports, metrics, and documentation supporting institutional reporting and executive consultation.
  • Direct the daily operations of the College's hiring and compensation functions.
  • Oversee the College's end-to-end hiring processes from position posting through onboarding.
  • Establish and maintain standardized, documented hiring procedures and timelines across searches; track requisition status, remove bottlenecks, support and train hiring committees and supervisors, and report process metrics to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Coordinate with shared-services and system partners to resolve process delays originating outside the department.
  • Publish campus-facing guidance on hiring process steps, expected timelines, and points of contact.
  • Serve as acting authority in the absence of the Chief Human Resources Officer and ensure continuity of human resources operations and decision-making.
  • Direct day-to-day classification and compensation operations, including salary determinations and analyses, routine reclassification processing, and job description maintenance within approved salary structures.
  • Develop and monitor service-level standards for the unit and ensure inquiries, transactions, and requests are acknowledged and resolved within established timeframes, with proactive status updates.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Workday Human Capital Management.
  • A human resources certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or PHR.
