Requirements
  • Successful completion of a formal technical training program with a minimum of four years of experience in a service setting is required.
  • Must have engine, electrical, hydraulic, transmission, and diagnostic troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Computer literacy is required, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and CAT programs.
  • Must be a self-starter with good time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills are required.
  • A commercial driver's license with an air-brake endorsement and a clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends when needed.
  • Excellent written, email, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75–100 pounds and provide personal tools.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record, with no more than two minor violations within the past three years and no major violations within the past five years; a Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on the final candidate.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field service repairs on construction equipment for Altorfer customers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair engine, hydraulic, electrical, transmission, and other systems.
  • Provide customer service to all customers.
  • Operate equipment safely to identify diagnostic errors and technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Establish and maintain service-oriented relationships with customers and supervisors.
  • Order parts using equipment parts books or online systems.
  • Complete service reports and all other paperwork before and after repairs.
  • Travel to customer worksites and work in outdoor field environments as required.
  • Climb and operate machinery and various types of equipment and wear appropriate safety equipment for the situation.
