Requirements
  • Requires a minimum of 1–2 years of intensive care unit registered nurse work experience.
  • Critical Care Float Pool registered nurse positions require 3 or more years of intensive care unit registered nurse work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized intensive nursing care to critically ill adult, geriatric, pediatric, burn, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and medically complex patients according to the assigned intensive care unit.
  • Manage critical care for multi-service adult patients with medical-surgical diagnoses and traumatic injuries.
  • Care for patients with complex neurological deficits and injuries, including severe head and spinal cord injuries and diseases of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
  • Float among intensive care units and, as needed, to the emergency department, post-anesthesia care unit, acute care, and intensive care unit border areas.
