As the SEO Lead, you will own the organic growth engine that brings millions of job seekers and employers to HeyJobs - reducing paid dependency, unlocking sustainable acquisition, and directly contributing to our mission of being the #1 provider of hires. You will set the direction and strategy for our SEO, lead and coach a growing team (starting with one direct report), and serve as a role model for our leadership values: generate business impact, build a winning team, and live our culture.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Creative/Content to scale programmatic and AI-powered SEO, improve technical foundations, and capture emerging discovery opportunities (AEO, GEO, SGE/LLM, and social search). With clear progression paths, you’ll have the runway to expand scope, grow the team, and drive step-change improvements in qualified traffic, conversions, and hires.

In this role, you can earn an annual target salary between 75.000 - 90.000 €.

🎯 How you can contribute to HeyJobs

• Lead the SEO function: set direction, hire and develop top talent, drive results, manage performance, and role-model our values across cross-functional squads (1 direct report initially; PMs and Engineers as embedded partners).

• Own the SEO strategy and 12–18 month roadmap across B2C and B2B funnels; prioritize initiatives that maximize qualified traffic, conversions, and incremental hires.

• Build and scale AI-powered and programmatic SEO: leverage GenAI workflows for research, content, internal tooling; optimize for answer engines (AEO), local intent (GEO), and LLM-driven discovery (SGE, Perplexity), plus social/TikTok SEO where relevant.

• Drive technical SEO excellence: site architecture, internal linking, schema/structured data, entity optimization, Core Web Vitals, crawl/indexation and log analysis; partner with PMs/Engineers to ship high-quality improvements.

• Own channel performance end-to-end: establish KPIs, forecasting and dashboards (Tableau, GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/SEMrush), run experiments, report impact, and iterate based on data.

• Initiate and run cross-functional growth initiatives with Product, Data, Creative/Content and Paid; align SEO with content strategy, CRO, and broader growth plans.

🤝 What sets you up for success

• Proven leadership in SEO: experience managing people and coaching/developing talent; track record in setting direction, driving results, managing performance, and building a strong team.

• Strong all-around SEO expertise (technical, on-page, off-page) with a track record of moving organic traffic, rankings, and conversion outcomes at scale.

• Strategic thinker who can identify high-leverage opportunities and craft a long-term, high-impact roadmap across B2C and B2B use cases.

• Solid technical skills: SEO-relevant frontend fundamentals (HTML, basic CSS), schema/structured data, entity optimization; familiarity with Core Web Vitals and collaborating effectively with Engineering.

• Deep experience leveraging GenAI for SEO (workflows, content ops, internal tooling) and optimization for emerging paradigms (AEO/GEO, SGE/LLM visibility); hands-on with programmatic SEO.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills beyond spreadsheets (e.g., SQL or Python); proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console, and major SEO tools (e.g.Ahrefs/SEMrush/Screaming Frog).

• Language: English is a must; German is nice to have.
