Requirements
  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintains current New York State licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high quality image.
  • Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
  • Observes each patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs.
  • Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transferboards, hover mats.
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
  • Completes and bills for studies accurately.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology.
  • Four years of progressively responsible professional work experience as an IR specialist in a clinical or hospital environment with at least 1 year dedicated to the URMC Imaging Sciences Department preferred.
