Responsible for the overall strategic leadership, direction, and performance for assigned branches.
Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor performance using key performance indicators including on time shipping performance, inventory adjustments, productivity, overtime, labor usage, etc.
Formulate and implement operational strategies and initiatives along with the Operations Leadership team.
Provide plan and direction to branches when acquiring new accounts. Work with various corporate teams (such as Sales and Quality) to ensure the needs of all customers are met based on specifications. Monitor customer concerns and OSI reports and address issues escalated above the Director of Operations.
Review safety and security procedures within the branches to ensure compliance with internal policies and Federal guidelines. Audit local practices for compliance during visits and implement plans for improvement.
Ensure branches have the needed amount and type of capital equipment for efficient operations. Work with appropriate teams to plan for future capital investment opportunities.
Monitor all human resource activity in assigned DCs ensuring compliance with Corporate and Operations HR policy. Overall accountability for Employee Relations policy adherence and enforcement through assigned locations.
Ensure compliance to regulatory rules and guidelines as established by Corporate Quality.
Monitor the performance of Directors in related incentive programs. Work closely with each Director to identify ways to achieving maximum performance and to improve performance against goals.
Management responsibilities include:
Typically, manage through Directors.
Provide leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.
Strategic, tactical and operational planning (24 + months) for the function or department;
Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;
Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;
Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;
Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Certification / Licensure
Work Experience
10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environment with P&L responsibility.
At least 5 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work, at a Senior level.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experience building and maintaining relationships within and between teams.
Experience influencing and motivating others to drive results in a multi-location and matrixed environment.
Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Position requires flexibility to meet with associates on all shifts.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
Experience managing multiple distribution sites.
Experience with WMS systems and Labor Management systems.
