Vim.org develops and maintains Vim, a highly configurable text editor that enhances the traditional vi editor used in UNIX systems. This software is tailored for programmers, developers, and tech enthusiasts who need an efficient tool for coding and text manipulation. Vim is available for free, and the company generates revenue through advertisements and affiliate links on its website. Instead of keeping the profits, Vim.org donates them to ICCF Holland, a charity that supports underprivileged children in Uganda. This unique business model not only funds the ongoing development of Vim but also fosters a strong community of users who contribute to a Tips wiki, sharing commands and macros to improve the user experience. Vim.org's goal is to provide a powerful text editing tool while making a positive impact on society.
