Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of restaurant, café, or food service experience is required.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience handling cash and point-of-sale systems is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead front-of-house operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Greet and seat guests, present menus, and provide table service.
  • Coordinate workflow and provide day-to-day guidance and support to Café Servers and newer team members.
  • Assist with onboarding and training staff on service standards, sanitation, safety procedures, and café operations.
  • Monitor the dining room to maintain standards of guest service, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Address guest questions, concerns, and service recovery needs in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist Extended Care clients working in the café by providing coaching, encouragement, and guidance when appropriate.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including end-of-shift balancing and closeout procedures.
  • Support opening and closing responsibilities and help ensure the café and designated areas are properly secured.
  • Partner with café management to identify operational improvements and maintain consistent service standards.
  • Complete assigned Relias training in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring team members is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate work during busy shifts.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to addiction, socioeconomic diversity, and cultural competency.
