Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, computer, and managerial abilities to accomplish objectives while maintaining control of operations and costs.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma application and usage.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a staff of supervisors to ensure timely production and compliance with safety, service-level, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement methods to improve productivity within payroll and expense budgets.
  • Plan and execute strategies supporting production objectives through cross-functional team leadership.
  • Promote employee development through verbal and written communication, cross-training, team-based problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production, solve problems promptly, and identify opportunities to meet production goals.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators to measure plant performance.
  • Identify and lead projects and kaizen events supporting continuous improvement of the value stream.
  • Cultivate a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Communicate daily with upper management about problems or issues affecting production.
  • Evaluate machine resources to support continued production and minimize downtime.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to production capability, tooling, and machine replacement through capital expenditure projects.
  • Coordinate activities addressing customer and market needs with Sales and Marketing.
  • Balance increased productivity with reduced manufacturing-operation costs.
  • Set productivity and project goals for each manufacturing supervisor.
  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ensure staffing levels are maintained according to workload.
  • Oversee Production Engineering Change Orders and ensure implementation dates are met.
  • Coordinate with Shipping to communicate product readiness and support prompt shipment.
  • Conduct daily meetings with production supervisors, scheduling, and warehouse teams to align on the daily plan.
  • Drive cost-reduction and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Direct training for the team on policies, procedures, products, and related topics.
