Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Engineering & Planning the Engineering Project Manager will lead and oversee the planning, engineering, and permitting of clean energy projects in metro New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and project management background, and a passion for renewable energy initiatives. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
Roles and responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with engineering partners.
- Lead the engineering and permitting of clean energy projects from concept through 100% Construction Documents.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with engineering partners to ensure that designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Select and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for engineering and construction activities.
- Oversee bidding processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with the budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
- Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders.

Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project management, ideally in the execution of clean energy projects.
- An understanding of battery storage systems, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
