Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent non-ticketed experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience with Trimble Robotic Total Station and other survey equipment and tools.
- Experience with layout work preparation in AutoCAD.
- WHMIS 2015 certification, which can be provided if needed.
- SCOT or CSTS certification, which can be provided if needed.
- Fall Protection ticket.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize quickly and maintain strong organization.
- Ability to set and maintain a personal schedule to meet project requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Punctuality, reliability, and self-motivation.
- Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, walk, and climb for long periods while working at heights.
- Ability to work in hot and cold extremes and in environments with noise, dust, and pollution.
Responsibilities
- Review blueprints and construction drawings with the Project Coordinator and Site Superintendents.
- Review the scope of work with Superintendents and determine layout requirements.
- Ensure layout equipment and tools are maintained and available.
- Perform all elements of layout and elevation requirements and ongoing monitoring checks.
- Document and maintain as-builts for submission as required.
- Arrange survey checks and updates at various project stages.
- Ensure the work site and tools are organized and cleaned at the end of each day.
- Record and maintain calculations and equipment, and maintain and troubleshoot technical equipment.
- Complete daily work records, daily diary, and equipment reports as required.
- Review the site for accuracy and keep current documentation on hand while working on the project.
