Requirements

  • Candidates must be flexible with the rota and available to cover weekend and bank holiday shifts as required by the business.
  • Candidates must comply with hotel policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety, security, environmental practices, and personal presentation standards.
Responsibilities
  • Present a professional, friendly, and efficient impression of the hotel at all times.
  • Provide potential and existing clients and colleagues with a high level of sales service through the company values of forward thinking, open-mindedness, and drive.
  • Establish strong working relationships with guests, visitors, colleagues, and event clients.
  • Liaise with operational hotel departments and Heads of Department to deliver high-quality, personalized, and tailor-made guest and event services.
  • Discuss objectives with target customers and clients and select appropriate marketing plans.
  • Finalize annual market research and maintain an accurate plan to reach targets.
  • Propose new promotions and packages to increase client business revenue.
  • Respond promptly to guest requirements and inquiries and resolve guest problems or complaints, informing hotel management as appropriate.
  • Analyze customer feedback and provide strategic direction to improve overall ratings.
  • Perform day-to-day sales activities, including lead generation, account management, face-to-face meetings, contracting, rate negotiation under the direction of the Events and Sales Director, site inspections, trade shows, and client entertainment.
  • Identify key competitors and conduct regular competitor analysis, including monitoring performance, rates, and sales activity.
  • Support Heads of Department, the Revenue Manager, and events operations and production.
  • Conduct regular Sales and Events department meetings covering day-to-day and strategic issues.
  • Manage Opera and Delphi.fdc, ensuring information is accurate and updated and that bookings, inquiries, and activities are logged in the account management system.
  • Organize, attend, and deliver in-house events.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef on menu and package creation.
  • Ensure the Operations Team receives the information required for each client through BEOs/function sheets.
  • Contribute to departmental qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Supervise new-starter programs and ensure new colleagues are welcomed positively into the team.
  • Attend relevant training courses and complete departmental reports and correspondence accurately and punctually.
  • Report health and safety hazards to the Director of Sales or appropriate Department Head.
  • Participate in developing strategies and key objectives to enhance hotel performance and standards.
  • Undertake Duty Management shifts as required.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by the Events and Sales Director.
