Requirements
  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • A Master of Science degree with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a PhD with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience modeling and simulating end-to-end digital communication systems using MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or C/C++.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 5–10% for collaborative meetings with optical transceiver design team members.
Responsibilities
  • Innovate, develop, and validate system-level models of coherent digital signal processing algorithms in floating-point and fixed-point arithmetic, as well as analog radio-frequency and optical devices housed in optical transceivers.
  • Evaluate optical transceiver performance using system-level models and simulations under various fiber transmission conditions to ensure that products meet system requirements.
  • Develop specifications and support documents for simulation components and environments, including characterization and validation plans.
  • Collaborate with the digital signal processing application-specific integrated circuit team on implementation and verification of digital signal processing algorithms to create optimized application-specific integrated circuits.
  • Identify and implement improvements in optical transceiver component designs to optimize performance and reduce product power consumption and cost.
