We are looking for a Lead Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Engineer to head a newly created team of engineers dedicated to managing and growing CoStar Group’s corporate Wi-Fi network. We have big plans for the next few years, this includes building two new 1000+ employee campuses, migrating our control plane to SaaS and ensuring all equipment & configs are tuned to increase overall speed in our platform that supports 80 campus buildings.
This position is in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Responsibilities
- Architect, supervise and manage the Wi-Fi infrastructure spanning 80 worldwide office locations
- Creates architecture documentation, maintains the project planning process and drives deliverables
- Support Network Access Control (NAC) software that manages our policy enforcement, device profiles and guess access management
- Monitor Wi-Fi networks proactively, identify and resolve performance issues, and implement preventive measures
- Utilize wireless network planning and survey tools such as Ekahau and AirMagnet to conduct comprehensive site surveys. Analyze wireless coverage, identify potential interference sources, and recommend optimal placement of access points
- Triage tickets related to Wi-Fi connectivity concerns, perform root cause analysis, iterate processes to prevent future issues
- Manage software & firmware updates to utilize the latest feature sets and to remediate security concerns
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members and network engineers
- Stay updated with emerging Wi-Fi technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Work with various technologies including, but not limited to:
- Firewall technologies including – CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Cisco
- Cisco switches Catalyst 9300, 9400, 2960
- SSL VPN solutions – Junos, Ivanti Pulse Secure, CheckPoint
- SD-WAN platforms such as Palo Alto
- Monitoring platforms including LogicMonitor, PRTG, zScaler ZDX, Aruba UXI and ThousandEyes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college.
- 4+ years supporting enterprise Wi-Fi over LAN and WAN environments
- Hands on experience with wireless survey tools and Wi-Fi design tools
- Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting Cisco network devices
- In depth knowledge of radio frequencies and Wi-Fi spectrums and optimizations
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Strong written and verbal communication, including writing procedural documents
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- 3+ years configuring and operating a NAC such as Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, Forescout ContactACT, etc
- Hands on experience with Aruba Airwave management system
- Experience in network protocol analyzers/sniffers
- Demonstrated experience enhancing monitoring tools like Solarwinds, PRTG or LogicMonitor
- Knowledge of networking technologies to include TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, STP, HSRP, PPP, NAT, QoS, ACLs, MSCHAPv2, PAP, 802.1x, EAP-TLS
- Experience with Next Generation firewalls
- Industry certifications such as Aruba (ACMP, ACX), CWNP (CWNA, CWSP, CWDP) or Cisco (CCNA, CCNP Wireless) are a plus
- Certificate Management: Deploying certificate-based authentication including issuance, distribution, and revocation.

This position offers a base salary range of $142,500- $222,400, based on relevant skills and experience, and includes a generous benefits plan.
