Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience, including 5 years managing preconstruction activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience across multiple project types and divisions of work.
  • Extensive knowledge of company operations and processes across functional groups.
  • Experience in a leadership position with successful, demonstrated results.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including facilitation, diplomacy, and influence.
  • Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction and/or Design-Build projects.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in divisional strategic planning to establish divisional goals and action plans.
  • Develop and execute strategies to win work.
  • Monitor team progress to ensure project deadlines and milestones are met and team output is delivered consistently on time.
  • Grow and develop department team members to achieve project goals and align with future divisional objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of preconstruction professionals and foster a collaborative and proactive work environment.
  • Oversee effective estimating practices to produce high-quality project estimates.
  • Work with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project scopes, plans, and budgets.
  • Identify and evaluate project risks and offer solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Serve as the executive contact during preconstruction and build and maintain client relationships.
  • Partner with business development on work procurement pursuits as required.
  • Participate in closing sales and final contract negotiations with owners.
  • Assist preconstruction team members in maintaining estimating software, systems, databases, and processes.
  • Identify and hire new team members and develop growth plans.
  • Lead the Industrial team’s Preconstruction department, grow its capabilities, and procure work aligned with revenue and profit goals.
  • Guide staff and trade partners through the preconstruction phase and deliver successful projects to the construction team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the Industrial market, specifically process and manufacturing.
  • Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction and/or Design-Build projects.
