Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in laboratory settings, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to advocate for individuals from a broad range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of laboratory and research support areas to ensure efficient workflow and effective support of research and technical activities.
  • Supervise and organize the work of research support technicians and manage the day-to-day functioning of laboratory spaces.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and technical infrastructure required to support research and development activities.
  • Oversee the condition and functionality of laboratory systems, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and implement modifications or improvements to equipment and laboratory facilities when necessary.
  • Maintain quality control documentation, equipment records, and operational logs to ensure compliance with laboratory standards, safety practices, and institutional requirements.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained for laboratory equipment, procedures, and operational activities.
  • Consult with internal and external laboratory users to coordinate laboratory scheduling, equipment set-ups, and operational requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate training and orientation for laboratory users on proper equipment use, laboratory procedures, and safe operation of laboratory facilities.
  • Contribute to operational planning and budget development related to laboratory activities, including identifying equipment needs, planning maintenance and repair requirements, and assisting with resource planning.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary to support laboratory operations, research activities, and the overall mission of the program.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree and experience in a laboratory setting.
