Gameplay Analyst

Position Summary

As a Gameplay Analyst, you’ll collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide actionable data-driven insights that shape gameplay, monetization, and product strategy. You’ll use advanced analytics, A/B testing, and AI/ML techniques to drive meaningful improvements in KPIs and player experience across our mobile and social games.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain and evolve analytic frameworks for optimizing KPIs across desktop and mobile games.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate, complete telemetry and event tracking.
• Produce business cases and quantitative analyses for features, events, and initiatives.
• Lead A/B and multivariate testing with rigor and integrity.
• Develop and deploy predictive models to support live ops, monetization, personalization, and player segmentation using machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, or PyTorch).
• Extract and analyze data from SciPlay databases; support and mentor new analysts in database structure and tools.
• Automate reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Champion metric design, ensuring analytical soundness and relevance to business goals.
• Stay current with innovations in game analytics, AI/ML, and data science practices; proactively identify opportunities for innovation using generative AI and behavioral modeling.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or engineering, preferably within gaming or entertainment industries.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong proficiency in SQL (MySQL, HQL, etc.)
• Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Looker, Power BI
• Familiarity with machine learning tools and languages: Python, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.
• Understanding of data warehousing and relational databases
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, BigQuery) is a plus
• Bonus: Experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, custom LLMs) to support content analysis, player feedback summarization, or design iteration
