This is an outstanding opportunity to work and grow in the multi-media industry. We are looking for an outgoing self-starter, to work in our Sales Department at WABG/Delta News. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work with a team of Sales professionals in achieving their sales goals at our television station and be flexible in an ever-changing environment. In addition, the position will work with our Delta News.tv website, assisting in posting and updating content. The ideal candidate will possess a “can-do” attitude, great attention to detail, know how to work and communicate well with others, and can take direction as well as work independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Inputs advertising orders into our computer Traffic system for our Sales team.
2. Assists Sales team in preparation of marketing proposals.
3. Communicates with ad agencies and advertising clients on orders, commercial copy instructions and weekly commercial air times.
4. Works with our Traffic Department to assure the smooth, error-free scheduling of advertiser schedules.
5. Work with Sales Management team on updating sales materials for the team.
6. Prepare reports for management as needed.
7. Works with Delta News.tv website and the station’s digital platforms to keep content up-to-date.
8. Works as back-up to business department during vacations or as needed.
7. Crossed trained on all positions in the department.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred but will also consider experience; at least 1 year in an organization dealing with paperwork. OSI traffic system experience preferred but will train.
· Must be detail-oriented with good organizational skills. Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales orders, written instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization. Basic skills in web and digital publishing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
§ Strong computer skills—Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
§ Ability to prioritize and multi-task many projects at one time
§ Must be flexible and able to adjust to the changing demands of our environment
§ Very organized and excellent attention to detail
§ Excellent communication ability in person and on the telephone
§ Ability to work well with all levels of the organization
§ Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills
