Responsibilities
  • Lead, appropriately scale, drive, and manage all operations teams, tools, processes, policies, compliance, procedures, quality assurance, and associated resources
  • Assess current state of operational management processes, business plans, reporting and controls; adjust and improve as appropriate
  • Oversee the expansion and growth of the operations function, including the design and implementation of scalable business processes and infrastructure
  • Provide leadership to the customer-facing support organization, including Technical Support, Customer Support, and Implementation & Training
  • Oversee management and drive process improvement for advanced technical support leveraging Technical Support team, working in collaboration with Engineering and IT teams when appropriate
  • Partner with HR team to continue development of career pathing, develop staff resource planning and support talent acquisition to support the growth of the Operations organization
  • Provide leadership to the internal-facing support functions of the PMO
  • Develop, implement and manage the annual budget in conjunction with the business unit leadership; prepare and submit an annual operational budget for review and approval and manage effectively within this budget
  • Work with Finance team to coordinate on monthly revenue and billing activities to support the financial operations of the business unit, including but not limited to, assisting with revenue forecasting, supporting billing functions, collections activities, tracking and reporting customer credits, and other customer facing finance activities
  • Develop strategic imperatives for business unit and partner with Finance and Data Governance to identify KPI’s that support the achievement of business imperatives
  • Partner with the business unit Executive Leadership Team to execute the current growth strategy
  • Provide visible and impactful leadership to employees as an executive and member of the business unit ELT
  • In partnership with the business unit ELT, set the 'tone at the top' of the organization that reinforces the values and employee value proposition
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company

In this role, Malone will lead the company's clinical and scientific initiatives, including oversight of biostatistics, clinical content development, and alignment of scientific strategy with DoseMe's broader growth objectives, including integration of newly acquired capabilities from Firstline. The combined platform of DoseMe and Firstline unifies evidence-based antimicrobial selection with Bayesian model-informed precision dosing within a single, streamlined clinical workflow. Together, the integrated solution enables health systems to align stewardship strategy, prescribing guidance, and individualized dosing optimization to improve outcomes, reduce resistance risk, and enhance operational efficiency. Malone brings more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning hospital pharmacy operations, investigational drug services, healthcare software, and executive sales leadership. Malone will manage the team of biostatisticians responsible for building and advancing clinical models within the DoseMe platform and serve as the company liaison to the DoseMe Clinical Advisory Board. He will also play a key role in ensuring alignment between scientific innovation and the company's strategic roadmap. Most recently, Malone served as Vice President, Sales at Inovalon, where he led the Care Management business unit's national sales operations. Under his leadership, the team accelerated growth to $3.6 million in new annual contract value in 2024 and achieved greater than 100% net revenue retention, followed by 140% year-over-year ARR growth in the first half of 2025. Prior to Inovalon, Malone was president of McCreadie Group LLC, a healthcare software company acquired by Cordance Operations. During his tenure, the organization achieved 24% year-over-year growth and 28% EBITDA, while expanding its SaaS solutions supporting pharmaceutical research sites and pharmacy residency programs. Malone also brings deep academic medical center experience. He served for nearly a decade as Program Director of the Investigational Drug Service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he led consolidation and expansion of research pharmacy services across the enterprise, improved quality metrics to over 99%, and transitioned the department to a positive operating margin within 12 months. Earlier in his career, he held executive pharmacy leadership roles including Director of Pharmacy at Centennial Medical Center and Maury Regional Medical Center, as well as Corporate Director of Pharmacy Operations for Vanguard Health Systems, overseeing pharmacy strategy across a 25-hospital system. Malone earned his Doctor of Pharmacy with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Inovalon has launched Clinical Trial Eligibility Screener, a new API service designed to accelerate clinical trial recruitment by evaluating patient eligibility against study criteria in real time using longitudinal medical data. The service addresses persistent recruitment challenges in clinical research, where 86% of sites miss enrolment targets and up to half enrol one or no patients. Traditional pre-screening methods like telephone interviews often prove inefficient when patients are ultimately ineligible. The API uses natural language processing to interpret trial eligibility criteria and returns a pass, fail or inconclusive status for each requirement.
