  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • An active Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, preferably multiple states
  • 20 or more years of experience with water or wastewater system design, planning, or evaluation
  • A willingness to travel to assess community infrastructure needs
  • Ability to independently assess community infrastructure needs and develop Preliminary Engineering Reports; serve as a technical expert on water and wastewater infrastructure projects; move projects forward from conceptualization to implementation; develop clear, well-documented written products; complete multiple, concurrent projects, and lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, scientists, and outreach and communications specialists
Responsibilities
  • Providing technical assistance to small, underserved water and wastewater utilities across the country to access funding and design, build, and maintain sustainable, resilient water infrastructure systems and provide clean water to their communities
  • Assessing and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies and developing resources to reduce barriers to adoption
  • Evaluating the design, costs, and environmental impacts of potential water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Working to reduce human health and environmental impacts of PFAS and other emerging contaminants
  • Leading and mentoring a team of junior and mid-level engineers
