Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of marketing, product management or sales experience OR HS diploma or equivalent and at least 8 years of marketing, product management or sales experience
  • At least 2 years of experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and/or reconciling differences.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Responsibilities
  • Negotiate various legal agreements with vendors to achieve improved financial and operational terms through the Medline channel.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with vendors by holding regular cadence calls and organizing business reviews on an annual or bi-annual basis as appropriate.
  • Develop, sell, and implement marketing programs designed to sell more profitable products and deliver value and savings to Medline customers and sales reps
  • Encourage vendors to achieve top level performance both financially and operationally by reviewing their vendor scorecard through Medline Distribution and identifying areas within the business to improve on.
  • Perform as the escalation point of contact for all functional areas in the distribution division working with the vendor to problem solve and mediate through challenges and opportunities that arise.
  • Respond to vendor related questions or issues for quick resolution.
  • Plan and attend business reviews with vendors, healthcare industry and trade show events.
  • Initiate and delegate vendor onboards for new implementation customers and become the expert on any Distribution Terms that may differ from the industry norm.
  • Determine if Operational Programs such as spoke & hub or backhaul are needed to support the new implementation business being brought on through Medline Distribution and collaborate with the appropriate analyst teams to determine the financial impact to Medline, the vendor, and/or the customer.
  • For implementation projects, act as the main point of contact between internal Medline teams such as Sales, Operations and Distributed Product Division teams.
