Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team at WhiteWater. The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of payroll processing and ensure that employee salaries, benefits, and deductions are accurately calculated and disbursed in a timely manner particularly in multistate payroll environments. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. This position will be in-office.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees across multiple states.
- Maintain payroll information and the integrity of the data by designing systems, and directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Create and maintain all necessary federal, state, and local tax accounts.
- Prepare and submit all required payroll-related reports and filings. Arrange weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
- Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations.
- Review and manage time cards, time entry, and timekeeping system in Paylocity.
- Manage year-end reporting processes including W-2s and other relevant documents.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to systems and processes.
- Regularly reconcile Employee and Employer benefit and retirement plan costs to payroll deductions.
- Manage payroll systems and vendor relationships.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data and other system processes.
- Address and resolve employee payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Educate and inform employees about payroll procedures and policies.
- Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll administration.
- Experience with Paylocity and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. NetSuite is a plus
- Experience managing payroll for a workforce of 500 employees or more.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
